In December 2014 we acquired Camden Town Hall Annexe building from the London Borough of Camden, the property is an island site located opposite King’s Cross / St Pancras station and was purchased with the benefit of vacant possession. Our business plan involves converting the building into a luxury lifestyle hotel and we are excited to have agreed terms with The Standard for them to open this as the first Standard branded hotel outside of the US.
The building’s redevelopment potential as a hotel is enhanced but the sheer scale of investment in King’s Cross area that is to be delivered over the next 5 years; with 50 new buildings set on 67 acres delivering 3.4m sf of workspace, 500,000 ft² of retail and on completion an additional 45,000 of people living / working in the area due for completion. As part of the area’s redevelopment there is very low hotel product coming on board and this coupled with the central location and excellent transport links mean this is an incredibly exciting venture that we look forward to delivering.
